Bill Summary (Note: This summary applies to this bill as introduced and does not necessarily reflect any amendments that may be subsequently adopted.) If allowed pursuant to federal law, exempts licenses issued by the division of wildlife in the department of natural resources from the requirement that licensing agencies require license applicants to submit their social security numbers for purposes of enforcing the applicants' child support obligations. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. 26-13-126 (4), Colorado Revised Statutes, is amended to read: 26-13-126. Authority to deny, suspend, or revoke professional, occupational, and recreational licenses. (4) For purposes of this section, "license" means any recognition, authority, or permission that the state or any principal department of the state or an agent of such department is authorized by law to issue for an individual to practice a profession or occupation or for an individual to participate in any recreational activity; except that, if allowed pursuant to federal law, "license" shall not include a license issued by the division of wildlife in the department of natural resources. "License" may include, but is not necessarily limited to, any license, certificate, certification, letter of authorization, or registration issued for an individual to practice a profession or occupation or for an individual to participate in any recreational activity. SECTION 2. 24-33-110 (4), Colorado Revised Statutes, is amended to read: 24-33-110. Applications for licenses - authority to suspend licenses - rules. (4) For purposes of this section, "license" means any recognition, authority, or permission that the department of natural resources or any authorized agent of such department is authorized by law to issue for an individual to practice a profession or occupation or for an individual to participate in any recreational activity; except that, if allowed pursuant to federal law, "license" shall not include a license issued by the division of wildlife. "License" may include, but is not necessarily limited to, any license, certificate, certification, letter of authorization, or registration issued for an individual to practice a profession or occupation or for an individual to participate in any recreational activity. SECTION 3. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds, determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety.
