Representative Green called the meeting to order. A quorum was present. Representative McFadyen, prime sponsor of Senate Bill 09-294, discussed the merits of the bill. The bill would require that before approving a new taxicab service, the Public Utilities Commission must find that the proposed taxicab service is required for the public convenience and necessity and would not be detrimental to the public interest. Representative McFadyen responded to questions from committee members and provided copies of Amendments L.002 and L.003 (Attachments A and B).
