10:52 AM -- Senate Bill 09-174 - Concerning Pari-Mutuel Racing - For Action Only

Representative Casso, prime sponsor, explained the provisions of Senate Bill 09-174 to the committee during the prior meeting on Tuesday, April 7. The bill was placed on the table for action and Representative Judd moved amendment L.025 (Attachment A). He explained that it would sunset the tax rates in the bill after 5 years. The motion passed without objection by those members present. Representative Frangas distributed Amendment L.024 (Attachment B) and explained that it would change the distribution of money under the bill that would have otherwise gone to Colorado State University. The motion failed on a 5-6 vote. (The following actions were taken.)
