Senator Schwartz, prime sponsor, presented House Bill 09-1294. The bill extends the voluntary checkoff on the Colorado income tax form that benefits the Nongame Endangered Wildlife Fund from tax year 2009 through tax year 2011. Senator Schwartz said that it was the first checkoff that was included on the Colorado income tax form. She explained that the checkoff has been in effect for 11 years and has raised about $4.5 million.
