The meeting was called to order. A quorum was present. Representative Todd, chair, provided opening remarks to the committee, and passed around a sheet to gather contact information from the committee members. Representative Todd then provided background on the types of issues heard by the committee. Discussion ensued regarding the swearing in of the new secretary of state. The members of the committee then introduced themselves and provided their professional and personal backgrounds.

Mr. Bo Pogue, Legislative Council Staff, discussed a number of organizational issues regarding the committee's schedule and mission. Representative Todd provided input regarding a legislative field trip to Fort Carson on January 30th. Discussion ensued regarding transportation arrangements for the trip to Fort Carson. Representative Todd then discussed some of her expectations for the committee's operation when hearing bills. Discussion ensued regarding the committee's upcoming hearing schedule.
