Representative Massey, prime sponsor, presented Senate Bill 09-064, concerning building inspections relating to utilities. The committee heard testimony on the bill at its March 19th meeting. A conceptual amendment was also moved at the March 19th meeting, which the sponsors withdrew. Representative Massey offered a conceptual amendment, and explained the concept. Discussion ensued regarding the need for legislation to urge the Department of Regulatory Agencies to study the issue of inspections of public school buildings by local governments. Discussion followed regarding the positions of various school districts on Senate Bill 09-064, and the number of complaints associated with school inspections by the Department of Regulatory Agencies. Representative Massey clarified his conceptual amendment.
