07:35 AM -- Senate Bill 09-233

Sen. Schwartz presented her bill. Referred to this bill as comming from the Joint Committee on Job Creation. Indicated that when people lose their jobs, they often stay in the state and start new businesses. The Senator indicated that a survey conducted showed that properties that use 25% or less of their property for commercial use, provide .009 percent of the state's revenue, thus by eliminating this revenue impact, this will provide an incentive for small businesses.

Sen. Keller asked about L.004, and Sen. Schwartz explained that the amendment provides a 2 year window and will be paid for with gifts, grants, and donations.
