Senator Boyd gave introductory comments related to the committee's activities. She addressed two memoranda that were distributed to the committee, a memorandum providing an overview of the Health Care Task Force (Attachment A) and a memorandum summarizing the committee's activities from the past four years (Attachment B). Senator Boyd noted that task force members must request legislation by August 31, 2009, and the task force will approve legislation on October 19, 2009. She explained that the Health Care Task Force may introduce a maximum of 8 bills, and noted that the task force is scheduled to sunset in 2010. Members of the task force introduced themselves.
