Concerning expense reimbursement for members of the electricity advisory panel.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
SECTION 1. 40-4-113 (4) (d), Colorado Revised Statutes, is amended to read:
40-4-113. Evaluation of retail electric industry structure - study - repeal. (4) Electricity advisory panel - composition - appointment. (d) Members of the panel shall serve without compensation; except that members who represent residential and low-income consumers and members who reside outside of the Denver metropolitan area shall be entitled to reimbursement for their reasonable and actual expenses incurred to attend meetings. All panel members shall be entitled to reimbursement for their reasonable and actual expenses incurred to attend the public meetings associated with obtaining public comment on the panel's draft report. The total of all reimbursements contemplated in this paragraph (d) shall not exceed the amounts appropriated or voluntarily contributed for this purpose.
SECTION 2. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds, determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety.
