WHEREAS, The Denver Broncos completed the regular season with a record of fourteen wins and two losses to qualify for the playoffs; and

WHEREAS, The Broncos avenged their regular season loss to the Miami Dolphins in the AFC Divisional Playoffs; and

WHEREAS, The Broncos overcame turbulent winds to ground Vinny and the Jets by a score of 2310 to become AFC Champions; and

WHEREAS, General Elway marched his troops down the battlefield to once again destroy Atlanta; and

WHEREAS, The Broncos, riding high on their AFC victory over the Jets, clipped the Falcons' wings by a score of 3419 in Super Bowl XXXIII; and

WHEREAS, The Broncos have won more games (46) in three seasons than any other team in NFL history and as many games in one year (17) as any team; and

WHEREAS, The Broncos became the first team to win consecutive Super Bowls since the Dallas Cowboys in 199293 and, by repeating their championship status, established the AFC's first dynasty in 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Future hall of famer, John Elway, voted unanimously the Most Valuable Player in the Super Bowl, completed 18 of 29 passes for 336 yards, threw for one touchdown of 80 yards that was the secondlongest scoring pass in Super Bowl history, and ran for another on a quarterback draw; and

WHEREAS, Terrell Davis, Most Valuable Player from last year's Super Bowl rushed for 2008 yards this year and set an NFL record by breaking the century mark for the seventh consecutive postseason game, gaining 102 yards on 25 carries; and

WHEREAS, Mike Shanahan joins the prestigious ranks of Vince Lombardi, Don Shula, Chuck Noll, and Jimmy Johnson as coaches who have won two Super Bowls; and

WHEREAS, The Falcons' flight to victory was shot down by the stampeding Broncos under the reins of Mike Shanahan; and

WHEREAS, The Falcons were unable to saddle the bucking Broncos' offense causing Falcons quarterback Chris Chandler to throw three interceptions thus losing the critical turnover battle; and

WHEREAS, By the fourth quarter, Atlanta realized their chance to win a Super Bowl was "Gone With the Wind"; and

WHEREAS, The frustration of missed field goals, interceptions and blown chances caused Atlanta to ask "Where should we go? What should we do?" to which the Broncos replied "Frankly Falcons, we don't give a darn"; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Sixtysecond General Assembly of the State of Colorado, the Senate concurring herein:
