Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Sixty-second General Assembly of the State of Colorado:

That the House Services Committee is hereby authorized to appoint persons to serve as Chaplain for the House of Representatives and to designate the number of days any one person may serve as Chaplain. Compensation is to be paid as authorized in Senate Joint Resolution 99-004.

HJR99-1001 by Representatives Dean, George, Gordon; also Senators Blickensderfer, Powers, Feeley--Concerning a joint session of the House and Senate for the purpose of hearing a message from his excellency, Governor Bill Owens, and appointing a committee to escort the governor.

Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Sixty-second General Assembly of the State of Colorado, the Senate concurring herein:

That a Joint Session of the House of Representatives and the Senate of the First Regular Session of the Sixty-second General Assembly shall be held in the House Chambers at 11:00 a.m., on January 14, 1999, for the purpose of hearing a message from His Excellency, Governor Bill Owens, and that a committee of three members of the House of Representatives and two members of the Senate be appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate, respectively, to escort the Governor to the Joint Session.

On motion of Representative Dean, the rules were suspended and the resolution given immediate consideration and adopted by viva voce vote.

The Speaker appointed Representatives Sullivant, Morrison, Mace pursuant to the resolution.

HJR99-1002 by Representatives Dean, George, and Gordon; also Senators Blickensderfer, Powers, and Feeley--Concerning a joint session of the House of Representatives and the Senate for the purpose of hearing a message from the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and appointing a committee to escort the Chief Justice.

Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Sixty-second General Assembly of the State of Colorado, the Senate concurring herein:

That a Joint Session of the House of Representatives and the Senate of the First Regular Session of the Sixty-second General Assembly be held in the House Chambers at 10:00 a.m., on January 15, 1999, for the purpose of hearing a message from the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the Honorable Mary J. Mullarkey, and that a committee of three members of the House of Representatives and two members of the Senate be appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate, respectively, to escort the Chief Justice to the Joint Session.

On motion of Representative Dean, the rules were suspended and the resolution given immediate consideration and adopted by viva voce vote.

The Speaker appointed Representatives Kaufman, T. Williams, Grossman pursuant to the resolution.

SJR99-005 by Senators Blickensderfer, Powers, Feeley; also Representatives Dean, George, Gordon--Concerning a joint session of the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Sixty-second General Assembly for the inauguration ceremonies.

On motion of Representative Dean, the rules were suspended and the resolution given immediate consideration and adopted by viva voce vote.

Pursuant to the resolution the Speaker appointed Representatives Dean, Allen, Gordon to escort the Governor and Representatives Berry, McPherson, Bacon to escort the Lieutenant Governor.

Kaufman, and Mr. Laurence W. DeMuth Jr. are hereby appointed as members of the Colorado Commission on Uniform State Laws for terms of two years each.
