101 CONCERNING THE EXEMPTION OF FORFEITED RECOGNIZANCE BONDS
102 UNDER THE "COLORADO FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT".

Exempts the collection of forfeited recognizance bonds from
treatment under the "Colorado Fair Debt Collection Practices Act".
1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
2 SECTION 1. 12-14-102, Colorado Revised Statutes, is amended
3 BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW SUBSECTION to read:
4 12-14-102. Scope of article. (3) THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
5 ARTICLE SHALL NOT APPLY TO THE COLLECTION OF FORFEITED
6 RECOGNIZANCE BONDS THAT ARE COLLECTIBLE PURSUANT TO SECTION
7 20-1-103, C.R.S.
8 SECTION 2. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds,
9 determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate
10 preservation of the public peace, health, and safety.
