101 CONCERNING THE REDUCTION OF THE MINIMUM DIMENSIONS OF A
102 DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SURVEY PLAT THAT MAY BE
103 FILED WITH A COUNTY CLERK AND RECORDER.

[]Reduces the minimum dimensions of a survey plat that may be
filed by or on behalf of the department of transportation with a county
clerk and recorder.
1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
2 SECTION 1. 38-50-101 (3) (b), Colorado Revised Statutes, is
3 amended to read:
4 38-50-101. Survey plat - records file and index system -
5 informational purpose. (3) (b) (I) EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN
6 SUBPARAGRAPH (II) OF THIS PARAGRAPH (b), the dimensions of each plat,
7 as specified by county requirements, shall be at least eighteen inches
8 wide by twenty-four inches long and no more than twenty-four inches
9 wide by thirty-six inches long with a minimum two-inch margin on the
10 left side and a minimum of one-half inch margins at the top, bottom, and
11 right side of the plat.
12 (II) THE DIMENSIONS OF EACH PLAT FILED BY OR ON BEHALF OF
13 THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, AS SPECIFIED BY COUNTY
14 REQUIREMENTS, SHALL BE AT LEAST ELEVEN INCHES WIDE BY SEVENTEEN
15 INCHES LONG AND NO MORE THAN TWENTY-FOUR INCHES WIDE BY
16 THIRTY-SIX INCHES LONG. ANY SUCH PLAT WITH DIMENSIONS LARGER
17 THAN EIGHTEEN INCHES WIDE BY TWENTY-FOUR INCHES LONG SHALL HAVE
18 A MINIMUM TWO-INCH MARGIN ON THE LEFT SIDE AND A MINIMUM OF
19 ONE-HALF INCH MARGINS AT THE TOP, BOTTOM, AND RIGHT SIDE OF THE
20 PLAT.
21 SECTION 2. Effective date. This act shall take effect at 12:01
22 a.m. on the day following the expiration of the ninety-day period after
23 final adjournment of the general assembly that is allowed for submitting

1 a referendum petition pursuant to article V, section 1 (3) of the state
2 constitution; except that, if a referendum petition is filed against this act
3 or an item, section, or part of this act within such period, then the act,
4 item, section, or part, if approved by the people, shall take effect on the
5 date of the official declaration of the vote thereon by proclamation of the
6 governor.
