Summary of Legislation
The bill would increase the number of motor vehicles that would be eligible to display certain radio call letters issued by the Federal Communications Commission on special license plates.
State Revenues
The bill would increase the number of vehicles that would pay an additional five dollar special license plate fee. There are 3,253 vehicles with this license plate now. It is assumed that there would be a five percent increase in the number of vehicles that would receive these plates or 163 additional plates. The total revenue generated from this bill is estimated to be $815. Sixty-five percent of this amount would go to the State Highway Fund.
Local Government Impact
The Highway Users Tax Fund distribution formula would provide that twenty-six percent of the revenue would be distributed to counties and nine percent would be distributed to cities.
