TITLE: CONCERNING CONTINUATION OF THE YOUTHFUL OFFENDER SYSTEM.
Summary of Assessment
The bill extends the repeal date for the Youthful Offender System in the Department of Corrections to June 30, 2004. The FY 1998-99 appropriation for the Youth Offender System Subprogram is $10,943,989 General Fund. Because the bill extends a program currently appropriated on an annual basis, there is no net increase of revenues or expenditures. The bill is assessed as having no fiscal impact, any increases or decreases in funding for the Youthful Offender System will be reflected in the Long Appropriations Bill. The bill is effective upon signature of the Governor.
