TITLE: CONCERNING FISCAL DATA ACCUMULATED BY GOVERNMENT ENTITIES IN THE STATE.
Summary of Assessment
This bill requires the Department of Local Affairs, the Legislative Council staff, the Joint Budget Committee, the Department of Revenue, the Office of State Planning and Budgeting, the Department of Education, and the Colorado State-Local Forum to share their tax, budget, and other fiscal data with each other. Data would be provided in electronic form and in a software format and file structure format agreed to by the agencies. State and local governments may request data or the analysis of data accumulated by the agencies identified above. The Colorado State-Local Forum would prioritize data requests.
The bill puts into statute a Memorandum of Understanding that was entered into by the identified agencies in 1998. The bill will not impact the revenues or expenditures of the state, or units of local government. Therefore, the bill is assessed as having no fiscal impact. The bill will become effective upon signature of the Governor.
