TITLE: CONCERNING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR APPROVAL OF AN INDEPENDENT LIVING CENTER BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES.

Summary of Assessment

The bill specifies additional requirements that independent living centers must meet as a condition of approval to provide services pursuant to a contract with the Department of Human Services (DHS). The bill is effective July 1, 1999, and shall apply to applications for approval by independent living centers submitted to DHS on or after said date.

The bill does not place requirements on DHS; added requirements are placed on independent living centers only. Therefore, the bill is assessed as having no fiscal impact.
