Local Government Impact: Expands county authority to enter into lease-purchase agreements.



Summary of Legislation


            Under current law, any county is authorized to enter into lease-purchase agreements to provide financing for a courthouse, jail, other county building or equipment to be used for governmental purposes. This bill authorizes any county to enter into lease-purchase agreements to finance a public park, a public trail, or a public open space.



Local Government Impact

 

            Any county that elects to enter into such lease-purchase agreements will incur a financial obligation per the terms of the agreement which may, or may not, include associated operating and maintenance expenses.



State Appropriations

 

            This fiscal note would imply no new state appropriations are required for FY 1999-2000.
