TITLE: CONCERNING THE URANIUM MILL TAILINGS REMEDIAL ACTION PROGRAM.
Summary of Assessment
This bill extends for a five year period, until July 1, 2004, the Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action Program, currently scheduled to repeal July 1, 1999. This bill will continue the program's oversight committee. The bill will become effective upon signature of the Governor.
This bill continues an existing program, and as such will not have an impact on the revenues or expenditures of the state. The federal funding program terminated September 30, 1998 and the state program is in the process of wrapping up their work and will be completed June 30, 1999. The provisions of this bill will not have a fiscal impact on any state agency, or unit of local government. Therefore, this bill is assessed as having no fiscal impact.
