TITLE:            CONCERNING THE EXTENSION OF THE "VOLUNTARY CLEAN-UP AND REDEVELOPMENT ACT".

Summary of Assessment

This bill deletes the repeal date for the "Voluntary Clean-up and Redevelopment Act" under the Department of Public Health and Environment, and extends the Act with no further review. The Act was to be repealed, effective July 1, 1999. The Act provides for the transfer, redevelopment, and reuse of facilities and sites that have been previously contaminated with hazardous substances or petroleum products.

The continuation of an existing program does not affect state base revenues or expenditures. Therefore, this bill is assessed as having no fiscal impact.
