TITLE:            CONCERNING THE INSPECTION OF PUBLIC RECORDS.

Summary of Assessment

The bill would eliminate "privileged information" from the records that are exempted from the open records law. Information that would be exempt from the open records law would be information that is protected by any evidentiary privilege or right of non-disclosure expressly provided for by Colorado statute or by Colorado Supreme Court rulings unless the privilege is waived.

This bill would not create an additional workload, expenditure, or revenue for any state or local government. It provides direction for governmental entities to determine what may or may not be open for public access under the open records law. Therefore, this bill is assessed as having no fiscal impact.
