NO FISCAL IMPACT

TITLE:            CONCERNING CLARIFICATION OF AFFILIATION REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTORS.

Summary of Assessment

            The bill would define affiliation to include a political party or organization. The county clerks would not have to forward a persons affiliation to the previous county if the person changed the affiliation when registering in the new county. The citation that prohibited an election official from accepting an affidavit declaring affiliation would be eliminated. The bill would become effective in 90 days after adjournment unless a referendum petition is filed.

            These provisions would not have a significant fiscal impact on any state or local government entity. Therefore, this bill is assessed as having no fiscal impact.
