TITLE:            CONCERNING THE REPEAL OF SUNSET DATES ASSOCIATED WITH THE OPERATION OF WATER CONSERVATION PROGRAMS.

Summary of Assessment

            This bill repeals the sunset date of July 1, 1999 associated with the operation of the following water conservation programs:

               the office of water conservation under the Colorado Water Conservation Board;

               the authority of the Colorado Water Conservation Board to expend moneys from the Colorado Water Conservation Board Construction Fund;

               water use efficiency plans; and

               water conservation requirements for public landscaping projects.

            The bill would become effective upon signature of the Governor.

            The continuation of these operations would not result in an increase or decrease in base state revenues or expenditures. The office of water conservation is currently allocated $153,018 and 2.5 FTE for FY 1998/99. The bill would not have any fiscal impact on any unit of local government. Therefore, the bill is assessed as having no fiscal impact.
