NO FISCAL IMPACT
January 18, 1999
Janis Baron (303-866-3523)
TITLE: CONCERNING WAIVERS OF REQUIREMENTS IMPOSED ON SCHOOL DISTRICTS.
Summary of Assessment
The bill repeals and reenacts, with amendments, provisions allowing waivers of statutory and regulatory requirements imposed on school districts. The bill has no fiscal impact on either the Department of Education or local school districts. Current law allows school districts to seek waivers. The Department of Education indicates that local school districts seldom request waivers and that the State Board of Education has never denied a request for waiver. The bill is effective upon signature of the Governor.
