TITLE: CONCERNING PAYMENT OF FEES TO THE COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY PROFESSIONAL VETERINARY MEDICINE PROGRAM.
Summary of Assessment
This bill clarifies that an accountable student is a person who at the time of selection for admission into the Professional Veterinary Medicine Program at Colorado State University is not receiving funding either from the State of Colorado or from a state that has entered into a cooperative agreement with the state pursuant to 24-60-601, C.R.S.
The bill clarifies that the State Board of Agriculture is to annually assess each cooperative state or accountable student a support fee to reimburse the state of Colorado for instructional costs. The fee is to be based on a student's status as an accountable student at the time of selection for admission and is to not be reduced or waived at any time during the student's participation in the program.
This bill will not affect state or local government revenue or expenditures. The bill clarifies and codifies existing practice of the veterinary school at Colorado State University. Therefore, the bill is assessed as having no fiscal impact.
