Judiciary After consideration on the merits, the committee recommends that SB 98-22 be amended as follows and, as so amended, be referred to the Committee on Appropriations with favorable recommendation:

Business After consideration on the merits, the committee recommends that SB 98-26 be Affairs amended as follows and, as so amended, be referred to the Committee on Appropriations and Labor with favorable recommendation:

Amend printed bill, page 4, line 14, strike "regional" and substitute "GEOGRAPHIC, regional,".

Education After consideration on the merits, the committee recommends that SB 98-1 be

amended as follows and, as so amended, be referred to the Committee of the Whole with favorable recommendation:

"SECTION 1.  Part 2 of article 33 of title 22, Colorado Revised Statutes, is amended BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW SECTION to read:

22­33­201.5.  Definitions. FOR PURPOSES OF THIS PART 2, UNLESS THE CONTEXT OTHERWISE REQUIRES:

(1)  "EDUCATIONAL SERVICES" MEANS ANY OF THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF SERVICES TO PROVIDE INSTRUCTION IN THE ACADEMIC AREAS OF READING, WRITING, MATHEMATICS, SCIENCE, AND SOCIAL STUDIES:

(a)  TUTORING SERVICES;

(b)  ALTERNATIVE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS;

(c)  VOCATIONAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS.".

Renumber succeeding sections accordingly.

INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTION

The following resolution was read by title:

SJR 98-4 by Senator Bishop; also Representative Entz--Concerning additions or modifications to, and deletions from, the project eligibility list of wastewater treatment system projects eligible for financial assistance from the water pollution control revolving fund and the Colorado water resources and power development authority.

Laid over one day under Senate Rule 30(b), and placed on the calendar of Friday, January 16.

On motion of Senator Powers, and with a majority of those elected to the Senate having voted in the affirmative, the Senate proceeded out of order for Consideration of SJM 98-1.

CONSIDERATION OF MEMORIAL

SJM 98-1 by Sen. Coffman--Congressional Severance & Termination Payment Tax Prohibition

Senator Coffman moved that SJM 98-1 be referred to the Committee on Finance.

A majority of all members elected to the Senate having voted in the affirmative, the motion was adopted.
