CONCERNING AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF SPECIAL EVENT
GREYHOUND RACES THAT MAY BE CARRIED BY INSTATE SIMULCAST
FACILITIES.

Increases the number of special event greyhound races
that may be carried by instate simulcast facilities, located
at or under common ownership with racetracks where live racing
is held, from 15 per year statewide to 15 per track per year.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
SECTION 1. 1260602 (5) (a), Colorado Revised Statutes, is amended to read:
1260602. Simulcast facilities and simulcast races unlawful act. (5) (a) An instate simulcast facility may receive only special event greyhound races from an outofstate host track and, in addition, on any day on which an instate simulcast facility receives greyhound simulcast races from an outofstate host track and on which one or more instate host tracks are running live greyhound races, such instate simulcast facility shall receive and conduct parimutuel wagering on the broadcast signal of simulcast greyhound races from at least one such instate host track, if such broadcast signal is made available to it on usual and customary terms and conditions, including price. The commission shall approve no more than fifteen special events PER TRACK per year.
SECTION 2. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds, determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety.
