CONCERNING THE ELIMINATION OF THE REQUIREMENT THAT
AN ABSENTEE VOTER PROVIDE RESIDENCE ADDRESS INFORMATION IN THE
SELFAFFIRMATION PRINTED ON THE RETURN ENVELOPE FOR AN ABSENTEE
BALLOT.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State
of Colorado:
SECTION 1. 18114
(1) and (2), Colorado Revised Statutes, are amended to read:
18114. Selfaffirmation
on return envelope. (1) The
return envelope for the absentee ballot shall have printed on
it a selfaffirmation substantially in the following form:
State of ...................., County of
...................., I state under
penalty of perjury that I am an eligible elector; that
my address as registered is ......................;
THAT I RESIDE AT THE ADDRESS INDICATED ON MY APPLICATION FOR AN
ABSENTEE BALLOT; that I have not and will not cast any vote in
this election except by the enclosed ballot; and that my ballot
is enclosed in accord with the provisions of the "Uniform
Election Code of 1992".

(2) The signing of the selfaffirmation
on the return envelope for the absentee ballot shall constitute
an affirmation by the voter, under penalty of perjury, that the
facts stated in the affidavit
SELFAFFIRMATION are true.
SECTION 2. Safety
clause. The general assembly hereby finds, determines,
and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public peace, health, and safety.
