An Act

HOUSE BILL 98­1209

BY REPRESENTATIVES Young, K. Alexander, Allen, and Epps;

also SENATORS Rizzuto and Tebedo.


CONCERNING EDUCATION REFORM BY REPEALING THE REPEALER FOR THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION TO WAIVE ANY REQUIREMENTS OF TITLE 22, COLORADO REVISED STATUTES, FOR THE PURPOSES OF ENHANCING EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT.


Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:

SECTION 1. Repeal.  22­2­117 (4), Colorado Revised Statutes, is repealed as followed:

22­2­117.  Additional power ­ state board ­ waiver of requirements. (4)  This section is repealed, effective July 1, 1998.

SECTION 2.  Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds, determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety.
