CONCERNING THE CONTINUATION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE AURARIA HIGHER EDUCATION CENTER.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State
of Colorado:
SECTION 1. Repeal. 2370102
(6), Colorado Revised Statutes, is repealed as follows:
2370102. Auraria board
membership terms oaths voting.
(6) (a) This section
is repealed, effective July 1, 1998.
(b) The general
assembly acknowledges that the Auraria board has entered into,
and may hereafter enter into, longterm contracts as authorized
by law. It is not the intention of the general assembly in enacting
paragraph (a) of this subsection (6) to prohibit or impair any
such contracts which have been or may be validly entered into
by the Auraria board pursuant to law, and the general assembly
intends that implementation of paragraph (a) of this subsection
(6) will include provision for successorship to or other satisfaction
of the obligations of such contracts.
SECTION 2. Safety
clause. The general assembly hereby finds, determines, and
declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public peace, health, and safety.
