A BILL FOR AN ACT
CONCERNING MILEAGE ALLOWANCES FOR STATE OFFICERS
AND EMPLOYEES.

Increases mileage allowances for state officers and
employees for miles traveled on official state business. Creates
a mileage allowance for privately owned aircraft when authorized
and necessary for official state business. Makes an appropriation.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
SECTION 1. 249104 (2), Colorado Revised Statutes, is amended to read:
249104. Mileage allowances.
(2) On and after July 1, 1985
1999, state officers and employees shall be allowed mileage
fees of twenty
TWENTYEIGHT cents per mile for each mile actually and necessarily
traveled while on official state business and, WHEN AUTHORIZED
TO BE UTILIZED AND NECESSARY FOR OFFICIAL STATE BUSINESS, twentyfour
THIRTYTWO cents per mile when
FOR fourwheeldrive vehicles are
authorized to be utilized and are necessary for official state
business AND FORTY CENTS PER NAUTICAL
MILE FOR PRIVATELY OWNED AIRCRAFT.
SECTION 2. Effective date. This act shall take effect July 1, 1999; except that this act shall not take effect unless moneys are appropriated for the increased mileage fees and the mileage fees for privately owned aircraft, as specified in the annual general appropriations act or in any other act making an appropriation for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1999.
