Local Government Impact — The bill allows municipalities to elect to appropriate more than $5,000 in any one year to charity organizations. |
Current law limits the amount municipalities may appropriate to associated charity organizations to $5,000 in any one year. This bill eliminates that restriction. The bill will become effective upon the signature of the Governor.
This bill would not affect state revenue or expenditures. The bill will, however, affect municipal expenditures if the municipality elects to appropriate more than $5,000 in any one year to charity organizations. Therefore, the bill is assessed as having a local government conditional fiscal impact.

Spending Authority
This fiscal note would imply that no new state appropriations or spending authority are required to implement the provisions of the bill in FY 1998-99.
