TITLE:            CONCERNING THE EXCEPTION OF SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTS AND SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKERS FROM CERTAIN TEACHER LICENSING EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS.

Summary of Legislation

This bill would exempt school psychologists and school social workers from the current law requirement of taking and passing a basic skills assessment as part of the application for a provisional special services license if they hold a valid Colorado license or registration or a valid national certificate. Current law provides this exemption for occupational therapists, physical therapists, and school nurses.

The bill would not affect the revenues or expenditures of the state or of local school districts. Therefore, the bill is assessed as having no fiscal impact. The bill would become effective upon signature of the Governor.
