TITLE:            CONCERNING TEACHING OF AMERICAN INDIAN CULTURE IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

Summary of Assessment

This bill would require public schools in Colorado to teach the history, culture, and contributions of American Indians, including Colorado American Indians, as part of the curriculum of history and civil government. It is generally believed that this is currently a part of the curriculum in the public schools. Therefore, the bill is assessed as having no fiscal impact on the state or upon local school districts. The bill would become effective upon signature of the Governor.
