NO FISCAL IMPACT
January 11, 1998
House Local Government
Scott Nachtrieb (866-4752)
TITLE: CONCERNING REPORTING IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS PURSUANT TO THE “FAIR CAMPAIGN PRACTICES ACT”.
Summary of Assessment
The bill would allow quarterly disclosure statements in off-election years to be filed with local government officials where appropriate rather than with the Secretary of State’s office. This would reduce the number of reports filed with the Secretary of State. The amount of the reduced reports would be minimal and would not require a reduction in the Secretary of State’s appropriations. The increase in the number of reports received by local government officials would be minimal. Therefore, this bill is assessed as having no fiscal impact.
