TITLE: CONCERNING THE CONTINUATION OF THE DEFINITION OF MEDICAL TREATMENT GUIDELINES UNTIL JULY 1, 2003.
Summary of Assessment
The provision of this bill would postpone the repeal of the definition of “medical treatment guidelines” for 5 years from July 1, 1998 to July 1, 2003. The bill would become effective upon signature of the Governor.
Medical treatment guidelines are a system of evaluating and treatment guidelines for high cost and high frequency categories of workplace injuries and diseases that are designed to assure appropriate medical care at a reasonable cost. The continuation of this definition would not have any affect on the revenues or expenditures of the Department of Labor, or any other agency of the state, or unit of local government. Therefore, this bill is assessed as having no fiscal impact.
