HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 97-1029
WHEREAS, On September 11, 1975, the formation of
the Arapahoe County Task Force on Alcohol Problems, Inc., resulted
from decriminalization of public intoxication and identification
by the League of Women Voters that a serious need for an alcoholism
treatment program existed in Arapahoe County, Colorado; and
WHEREAS, On April 6, 1976, the Secretary of State
officially recognized the Arapahoe County Task Force on Alcohol
Problems, Inc., to be a Colorado nonprofit corporation; and
WHEREAS, This is the twentieth year of operation
of Arapahoe House, Inc., an organization that has contributed
a great service to the community during these years; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives
of the Sixtyfirst General Assembly of the State of Colorado,
the Senate concurring herein:
That we, the members of the general assembly, recognize
the staff of Arapahoe House during the last twenty years for their
part in contributing to its success.
Be It Further Resolved, That we commend the current board of directors for its outstanding dedication and support of the operation of Arapahoe House, as well as the founders of the Arapahoe County Task Force on Alcohol Problems, Inc.
