A BILL FOR AN ACT
CONCERNING REGISTRATION FEES FOR TRUCKS AND TRUCK
TRACTORS.

Makes the motor vehicle registration fee schedule
that is currently applicable to any truck or truck tractor operating
less than 10,000 miles annually applicable to any truck or truck
tractor operating less than 15,000 miles annually.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
SECTION 1. 423134 (13) (b) (III) (A), Colorado Revised Statutes, 1993 Repl. Vol., as amended, is amended to read:
423134. Registration fees passenger and passengermile taxes. (13) The annual registration fee for those trucks and truck tractors operated over the public highways of this state, except trucks which are registered under the provisions of subsections (12) and (25) of this section, shall be as follows:
(b) (III) (A) For each vehicle
registered under this subsection (13) that has an empty weight
exceeding sixteen thousand pounds and that is operated less than
ten FIFTEEN
thousand miles in all jurisdictions during each year, such registration
fee shall be based upon the declared gross vehicle weight of the
vehicle registered, according to the following schedule:

SECTION 2. Effective date applicability. This act shall be effective only if House BILL 9712581142 is enacted into law. This act shall take effect upon passage or upon passage of House BILL 9712581142, whichever occurs later, and shall apply to motor vehicles registered or reregistered on or after said date.
SECTION 3. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds, determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety.
