Bill Summary (Note: This summary applies to this bill as introduced and does not necessarily reflect any amendments that may be subsequently adopted.) Increases the limit on the amount of money to be collected as a penalty, interest, or costs for delinquent property tax payments that the county treasurer is authorized to refrain from collecting. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. 39-10-104.5 (10), Colorado Revised Statutes, is amended to read: 39-10-104.5. Payment dates - optional payment dates - failure to pay - delinquency. (10) The treasurer may refrain from collecting any penalty, delinquent interest, or costs where the amount to be collected is ten fifty dollars or less. Nothing in this subsection (10) shall be construed as releasing any person from the payment of any tax, assessment, penalty, delinquent interest, or costs or any other moneys which are due and owing and which the treasurer is authorized by law to collect. SECTION 2. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds, determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety.
