Concerning the continuation of the division of racing events in the department of revenue, and, in connection therewith, implementing recommendation 1 of the 2015 sunset report of the department of regulatory agencies. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, amend 12-60-901 as follows: 12-60-901. Repeal of article - review of functions. This article is repealed, effective July September 1, 2016 2023. Prior to such the repeal, the division and its functions shall be reviewed as provided for in section 24-34-104, C.R.S. SECTION 2. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 24-34-104, repeal (47) (b); and add (54) (b) as follows: 24-34-104. General assembly review of regulatory agencies and functions for termination, continuation, or reestablishment. (47) The following agencies, functions, or both, shall terminate on July 1, 2016: (b) The division of racing events, including the Colorado racing commission created by article 60 of title 12, C.R.S.; (54) The following agencies, functions, or both, terminate on September 1, 2023: (b) The division of racing events, including the Colorado racing commission, created by article 60 of title 12, C.R.S. SECTION 3. Safety clause.
