Concerning a requirement that the department of personnel create a procurement code working group to study ways to improve the state's "Procurement Code". Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, add part 5 to article 101 of title 24 as follows: PART 5 PROCUREMENT CODE WORKING GROUP 24-101-501. Procurement code working group - creation - recommendations - repeal. (1) The executive director or his or her designee shall convene a procurement code working group to meet during the interim following the second regular session of the seventieth general assembly to study ways to improve the procurement code. The procurement code working group shall solicit input from subject-matter experts, including, but not necessarily limited to, vendors, business organizations, nonprofit organizations, labor organizations, taxpayer advocacy organizations, legal professionals, and state employees with expertise in the procurement code. (2) The procurement code working group shall do its work within the existing resources of the department. (3) The procurement code working group shall submit to the general assembly its recommendations for modifications to the procurement code on or before December 31, 2016. (4) This part 5 is repealed, effective July 1, 2017. SECTION 2. Safety clause.
