Under current law, the early childhood leadership commission is scheduled to repeal on September 1, 2018. The bill extends the repeal date to September 1, 2020. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, amend 26-6.2-106 as follows: 26-6.2-106. Repeal of article. This article is repealed, effective September 1, 2018. Prior to September 1, 2020. Before its repeal, the commission shall be reviewed as provided in this article is scheduled for review in accordance with section 2-3-1203 (3), C.R.S. SECTION 2. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 2-3-1203, repeal (3) (ee) (V); and add (3) (gg.5) (II) as follows: 2-3-1203. Sunset review of advisory committees. (3) The following dates are the dates on which the statutory authorization for the designated advisory committee is scheduled for repeal: (ee) July 1, 2018: (V) The early childhood leadership commission created in section 26-6.2-103, C.R.S.; (gg.5) September 1, 2020: (II) The early childhood leadership commission created in article 6.2 of title 26, C.R.S; SECTION 3. Act subject to petition - effective date. This act takes effect at 12:01 a.m. on the day following the expiration of the ninety-day period after final adjournment of the general assembly (August 10, 2016, if adjournment sine die is on May 11, 2016); except that, if a referendum petition is filed pursuant to section 1 (3) of article V of the state constitution against this act or an item, section, or part of this act within such period, then the act, item, section, or part will not take effect unless approved by the people at the general election to be held in November 2016 and, in such case, will take effect on the date of the official declaration of the vote thereon by the governor.
