Bill Summary (Note: This summary applies to this bill as introduced and does not reflect any amendments that may be subsequently adopted. The bill removes the statutory prohibition on hospitals from including the amount of the hospital provider fee on patient billing statements and requires hospitals to include the amount of the fee. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 25.5-4-402.3, amend (3) (f) as follows: 25.5-4-402.3. Providers - hospital - provider fees - legislative declaration - federal waiver - fund created - rules - advisory board - repeal. (3) Hospital provider fee. (f) A hospital shall not include any the amount of the provider fee as a separate line item in its billing statements. SECTION 2. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds, determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety.
