Concerning the number of disabled veteran license plates with the identifying figure authorizing the use of parking privileges that may be issued to a qualified individual, and, in connection therewith, making an appropriation. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 42-3-204, amend (3) (b) (II) as follows: 42-3-204. Reserved parking for persons with disabilities - applicability - definitions - rules. (3) Types of plates or placards. (b) Number of placards and license plates allowed. (II) The department may issue two disabled veteran license plates with identifying figures or a disabled veteran license plate with an additional identifying figure and one placard to an a qualified individual. SECTION 2. Appropriation. For the 2015-16 state fiscal year, $7,880 is appropriated to the department of revenue for use by the division of motor vehicles. This appropriation consists of $2,866 from the general fund and $5,014 from the license plate cash fund created in section 42-3-301 (1) (b), C.R.S. To implement this act, the division may use this appropriation for license plate ordering. SECTION 3. Act subject to petition - effective date. This act takes effect at 12:01 a.m. on the day following the expiration of the ninety-day period after final adjournment of the general assembly (August 5, 2015, if adjournment sine die is on May 6, 2015); except that, if a referendum petition is filed pursuant to section 1 (3) of article V of the state constitution against this act or an item, section, or part of this act within such period, then the act, item, section, or part will not take effect unless approved by the people at the general election to be held in November 2016 and, in such case, will take effect on the date of the official declaration of the vote thereon by the governor. ________________________________________________________ Dickey Lee Hullinghorst Bill L.
