In connection with current procedures permitting an elector to register to vote on or immediately prior to or on election day, the bill requires that the elector provide a form of identification that includes a photograph of the elector. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 1-2-217.7, add (4) (a) (V) as follows: 1-2-217.7. Registration on or immediately prior to election day - locations - rules - legislative declaration. (4) Registration at voter service and polling centers. (a) An elector may register and vote prior to an election or on election day if the elector: (V) In addition to satisfying all other applicable requirements of this section, provides a form of identification as defined in section 1-1-104 (19.5) that includes a photograph of the elector. SECTION 2. Applicability. This act applies to any election conducted on or after the effective date of this act. SECTION 3. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds, determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety.
