Casey O'Donnell, representing the Colorado Center on Law and Policy (CCLP), spoke about his organization and its work on behalf of low income Coloradans. He spoke about CCLP's research on the availability of high quality childcare to parents as they pursue their own education. He discussed poverty rates among parents with varying educational attainment levels and the number of parents who cite lack of access to childcare as the main reason for not pursuing higher education. He proposed a task force to evaluate the best way to provide child care to low income parents and stated that the task force should include representatives from a variety of state agencies.
