Legislative Audit Committee. The bill allows the state auditor to conduct a performance audit of the Colorado health benefit exchange and submit a written report to the legislative audit committee with any findings and recommendations. The authority to conduct performance audits continues as long as the state auditor or the legislative audit committee deems it appropriate. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 10-22-105, add (4) (c) as follows: 10-22-105. Exchange board of directors. (4) (c) The state auditor may conduct or cause to be conducted a performance audit of the exchange. Upon completion of a performance audit, the state auditor shall submit a written report to the legislative audit committee, together with any findings and recommendations. The state auditor has continuing authority to conduct performance audits of the exchange whenever the state auditor or the legislative audit committee deems appropriate. SECTION 2. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds, determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety.
