Concerning the reinstatement of the authority for active military personnel to practice professionally. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 24-34-102, amend (8) (d) introductory portion as follows: 24-34-102. Division of professions and occupations - creation - duties of division and department heads - license renewal, reinstatement, and endorsement - definitions - rules - review of functions - repeal. (8) (d) Reinstatement. A licensee, registrant, or certificate holder who does not renew his or her license, registration, or certificate within the sixty-day grace period pursuant to paragraph (c) of this subsection (8) shall be treated as having an expired license, registration, or certificate and shall be ineligible to practice until such license, registration, or certificate is reinstated. The director, licensing board, or commission shall reinstate the expired license, certificate, or registration of any active military personnel, including any national guard member or reservist who is currently on active duty for a minimum of thirty days, if the military personnel meets the requirements of this paragraph (d). An expired license, registration, or certificate of any other person may be reinstated at the discretion and pursuant to the authority of the director, licensing board, or commission pursuant to the following requirements: SECTION 2. Applicability. This act applies to licenses, certificates, and registrations that are expired on or after the effective date of this act. SECTION 3. Safety clause.
