      Ryden, Young;

      Concerning changes to the public education accreditation
           statutes as a result of legislative review of the rules of the
           state board of education, and, in connection therewith,
           clarifying the term "public school" in the accreditation
           statutes.
       
      
      Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
      
           SECTION 1.  In Colorado Revised Statutes, 22-11-103, amend (28)
      as follows:
      
           22-11-103.  Definitions. As used in this article, unless the context
      otherwise requires:
      
           (28)  "Public school" shall have has the same meaning as provided
      in section 22-1-101 and includes, but is not limited to, a district charter
      school, an institute charter school, an on-line program, as defined in section
      22-30.7-102 (9), and an on-line school, as defined in section 22-30.7-102
      (9.5).
      
           SECTION 2.  Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds,
      determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate
      preservation of the public peace, health, and safety.
