The bill deletes from the list of documents used to define "identification" for purpose of the "Uniform Election Code of 1992" a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows the name and address of the elector. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 1-1-104, repeal (19.5) (a) (VII) as follows: 1-1-104. Definitions. As used in this code, unless the context otherwise requires: (19.5) (a) "Identification" means: (VII) A copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows the name and address of the elector; SECTION 2. Applicability. This act applies to any election conducted on or after the effective date of this act. SECTION 3. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds, determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety.
